She’s real good at sneaking, so she’s the one that they send to scout the trail to see if anybody’s coming. She just doesn’t like fighting, even though she accidentally starts fights more times than she can count, and she can count the highest from all the goblins in the clan.Īnd, even though Nott doesn’t like fights doesn’t mean that she can’t do nothing. They just call her Nott the Brave even though she’s not brave at all and she does run from fights, even since her mother’s given her a dagger. They don’t care that she’s the chieftain’s daughter, even now that she’s got her nose ring and her ear piercings. “Nott the Brave,” they laugh, “so brave she runs from mice! So brave she runs from cooked meat!” She’s using the jokes to make sure Fjord knows nothing has changed, even though for her everything has in regards to how she views him.They think it’s funny when they call her Nott the Brave. Sam’s roleplay of this scene was so impressive because while he made sure Nott was still in character and teased Fjord like she always had, she also didn’t hesitate in to give Fjord her dagger and you can see how seriously she is taking this despite her jokes. I think, for once, she not only really believes him but also heavily relates to him. We always knew that Nott and Fjord had a ton of eery similarities, but I think this truly cemented that idea for Nott herself. Nott looks genuinely blown away and heartbroken by this. I encourage you all to watch Nott during the part where Fjord is explaining why he took on Vandren’s accent and how doing so made everyone listen to him compared to when he used his real one.
